Experimental Study of Female-Headed Households’ Social Capital in Iran

Social capital is one of historical experiences of people and always changing. In this study, the social capital of female-headed households under the protection of Mazandaran welfare organization (2013) is investigated. The study is a survey using verbal questionnaire among 185 female-headed households. Regarding the 0.05% error, reliability of 0.95%, and 0.8917 alpha, results of the study indicate that social capital of female-headed households are challenging unpredicted crises. The important event of slightly more than 42 percent was going very often to their parent’s house. The least common events were meeting coworkers and far relatives. However, female-headed households under the protection of social welfare organization have the minimum social participation in environment and society. In some cases it has reached less than 10%. Among them, the maximum contribution belong to participating in religious groups with more than 48%, and the minimum participation was membership in sport gyms, participating in national institutions such as Polio Eradication and participating in environmental and green society activities. There is meaningful relationship between age, education of household -headed females and social capital.

Effects of ICT Skills and Knowledge of Parents on Their Attention to Educational Affairs of Students

Education is the second largest institution for producing the knowledge of information and information technology is the most modern method and channel to guide, inform and educate the individuals. Therefore, we investigated the impact of ICT knowledge of parents on their educational participation in the educational affairs of their children through partnership that is contribution in designing and implementation of objective-oriented decisions. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between theoretical IT skills, Windows skills, Word skills, Excel skills, PowerPoint skills, Access skills, Internet skills and Information and Communication Technologies skills of parents and their attention to educational affairs of their children. The higher the level of parental knowledge of information technology, the more their attention to the educational level of their children will be. The skill of parents (separately for fathers and mothers) in the seven skills of ICDL and their attention to educational affairs of the students also differs. So that the literacy rate of information and communications technology of fathers is higher than that of the mothers. There are some differences among the seven skills of ICDL of parents (fathers and mothers) and the average score of students. Some differences were found among the skills of parents (fathers and mothers) and students in terms of the seven skills of ICDL. In other words, a large gap exists between the two generations. But according to the regression model, among the various factors affecting the parents’ attention, the most important role and influence in parents’ attention were associated to Word skill (29%), Win skill (26%), PowerPoint skill (23%), Excel skill (21%), Access skill (21%), Internet skill (19%) and IT skill (15%) with respect to the Beta value, respectively.

An Experimental Study of the Impact of Indigenous Media on Indigenous Identity of Youth in Sari City

Identity has a long historical background. Human tendency to form an identity has existed since the oldest human cultures. Identity is the relationship between the semantic network of mind and the network of social relationships which today has been overshadowed by the media, especially television. Accordingly, this study seeks to whether the medium of television has an influence on youth's interest in indigenous identity. This is a survey research in which the data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire and a sample size of 700 subjects. The results showed that television has a significant role in the identity formation of youth. According to the regression model, among the various factors influencing the formation of identity among young people, local programs (21%), local dialects (28%), local songs and chants (19%), traditional dishes (15%), local games (21%), religious festivals and holidays (31%) predict and explain the impact of media on youth identity formation with respect to β.
